A great tool for anyone applying to internship as it provides you important dates, great strategies for essays and interviews, and many examples. Best of luck to those going through the internship process!

If you are applying for an internship in psychology, I HIGHLY recommend this book/manual. It outlines everything that you need to know about the application process - from beginning to end. I feel like I was way ahead of the curve by utilizing this book.

A good reference guide for applying to internships. However, I found the sample cover letters to be a sufficient for sites requiring you to be pithy, but my experience has been that the fuller bodied letter (1-2 pages with several paragraphs) gets better feedback.Sample questions for interviews and interviewees are excellent to help prepare and organize your thoughts and experiences. I used this book and reviewed it with my academic advisor and professors, which brought up additional questions that might be asked and specific items that an interviewee would want to include in their answers.Helpful, but don't neglect important LIVE resources!

A quick read and concise. However, it did not provide much information above and beyond that provided by other students in my program. That said, I will still probably check out the next edition when it is released.

I wouldn't say I "love" it so much as found it very helpful in organizing myself for internship applications. A must-use for the price, as it goes over everything from just starting to think about applying to actually following through on applications and what to expect on interviews. It even provides mock letters and essays which I found helpful to give me an idea of where to begin.

Must have if you are applying for APPIC. However, not a lot of difference from the previous edition, and some of the information is already outdated. However, the help with essays and cover letters was invaluable.

I remember it like it was yesterday and I was a "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey hater. As a longtime mma fan I never believed female mma fighters deserved to be in the UFC because their skill and fighting spirit paled in comparison to men's and I felt that way with Rousey too. Each opponent she would face I would dismiss them both as lacking skill and undeserving of being in the most elite mma company in the world (the UFC [Ultimate Fighting Championship]). I would boo Ronda as I watched her fight at the local Buffalo Wild Wings and think to myself this woman is a one trick pony and she will be beaten once that trick doesn't work. Disappointment would fill me as she would win over and over again and I thought to myself maybe one day she won't.It wasn't until UFC 175 that she opened my eyes and made me realize that I was letting my bias towards her blind my logical reasoning. She would co-main event against fellow bantamweight Alexis Davis and defeated her dominantly by KO through the combination of an overhand right, a judo throw, and punches from hell once they hit the deck. It was then that I knew she was different, she wasn't a one trick pony but a once in a lifetime athlete who transcends the sport and reaches the mainstream through her absolute dominance of her competition. Then I asked myself how is she so great? How does she make it look so easy? And why does everyone including Hollywood want to be associated with Ronda Rousey? I scoured a few articles and read that she was a hard worker and a former olympian medal winner so maybe I thought that is why she is better than everyone and let it be believing I solved it.Unbeknownst to me she had a book coming out today that I only found out about yesterday. I felt if it was an official biography done by the 135 pound champ I had to get my hands on it to understand why she truly became so great. And she showed me through what felt like a first person perspective the events that brought her to greatness. I felt like I was Rowdy Ronda Rousey going through the death of her dad, her failures and shortcomings at the pinnacle of Judo competition, living in a car, her trying to win over her current mma coach to train her, the first mma fight, the strategy to bring women's mma to the limelight, and what kinds of things she plans to do with the future. This amazing book which I read in under 6 hours was of the most inspirational books I have ever laid my eyes upon and felt necessary to write a review. Ronda Rousey hasn't just helped pave the way for women's mma but is paving the way for women to not limit themselves to doing generic gender jobs and to realize that you can be whoever you want and follow whatever path you choose. This book will show you the future of women in and out of competition and about one of the greatest athletes and more importantly one of the greatest humans this generation has ever seen.-A former Ronda hater now a fan. :-)

Yes, I know the title is a Rocky Balboa expression but it is appropriate. Wow, what a fun read about a true fighter. If you name is not Dick Itty Bitty and if you never have to stand across from Ronda Rousey in an Octagon, then you are sure to enjoy this book. If you don’t know who Ronda Rousy is and your name isn’t Floyd Mayweather then this is a good introduction to why she is the real deal fighter. She is not a novelty. Like most prize fighters, their lifetime lens on the world is that of a fighter. The book will let you see the following through her eyes: her struggles, the family stories that build a champions heart, the Ronda against the world, train, believe in yourself, overcome challenges, refute anyone that says no, out work and out think them all. Ronda is NOT a Champion by chance. This book shows a life time journey that got her there and is sure to keep her there for some time to come. Ronda is someone transfixed on her dream who works hard every day at it. She delivers a message of toughness, determination and grit in a very humorous way. If you are a fight fan, you will love this book. If you are a parent this book should be shared with your daughters so they see the power of a woman who just keeps moving forward.

“In Writing on the Wall: Graffiti and the Forgotten Jews of Antiquity” by Karen Stern (June 2018).Partial comments by Candida Moss in the online “The Daily Beast” of Sept. 8, 2018:“….[S]he gives us a glimpse into the lives of the ancient Jews forgotten by historians but who left their mark on their environment. She draws together the evidence for Jewish graffiti from synagogues, tombs, theaters, and public spaces to build up a picture of what it was like to be a Jew in the Roman empire.“Her explorations found graffiti of numerous kinds: some are just texts (recording the names of the writers); some, she argues, are prayers demanding the attention of those who might pass by the spot; others have imagery of menorahs, obelisks, horses, ships, and even shrouded skeletons. Some of the graffiti is pious and poignant: a graffito from catacomb 20 in Beit Shearim reads “Be of good courage, pious parents! No one is immortal!” Another graffito close by almost flippantly wishes the occupants “Good luck in your resurrection!” Communicative inscriptions like these are found all over the ancient Mediterranean, in Southern Europe, Mesopotamia, and what is now Israel. Graffiti is and was omnipresent.“What’s most startling is how reading the writing on the wall can subvert the vision of Jewish behavior crafted by literary elites. As Stern told The Daily Beast, “On a basic level, graffiti sometimes serve as the only records for the underdogs of ancient history—non-elite people including slaves and women—whose daily lives are more rarely documented in ancient literary sources.“ The caricature of self-isolating Jews is undercut by much of the research here; the mere presence of graffiti in theaters, town halls and hippodromes testifies to the presences of Jews in spaces where they otherwise left no trace.“….Many of these sites contained graffiti, but what interested Stern was the ways in which the graffiti was used: the same language of remembrance is used in several sites, and visitors to all kinds of religious centers would consistently would scratch their names at eye level in prominent locations within the buildings.“Stern comes to two important conclusions about the Dura graffiti. First, inscribing one’s name is strategic and intended to draw an audience who might interact with it (perhaps by reading it out or offering a prayer). Second there was a shared ‘vocabulary’ of practice among people in Dura regardless of their religious affiliation, whereby scratching one’s name did not violate any unspoken laws of behavior.”“Most surprising of all, Stern’s findings overturn much of what we thought we knew about Jewish-Christian relations. She examines the graffiti produced in periods that the literary records describe as moments of hostility and antipathy. Instead of a decline in public statements about Jewish identity, she found Jews proudly announcing themselves to their contemporaries.”

About the Author

Frank Nagy is Managing Director of Frank Nagy Financial Services. This book is an average read of spliced documents that the consultant may have access to through his work with his clients over the years. The author lacks in clearly articulating the thought process, instead stuffs the book with a lot of legalese. This book has been read once and perhaps will sit on my shelf for a long time without returning to it again for any kind of reference. Moreover, there are entire paragraphs repeated in the book in different sections without any good reason for repetition. Overall, this is a below average book on fund formation.

This book stepped through and clearly demystified a lot of questions I had about the setup and formation operations of a hedge fund. This is stuff that you can't just find on the internet laid out as clearly and well thought out as Frank Nagy has done. Great resource.

This is the most poorly written book that I have read in years. Every page is filled with misspellings, grammatical errors and just plain bad writing. The advice is limited to the nuts and bolts of setting up a hedge fund. These are things that your lawyer will tell you about in your first meeting. Seriously, if you haven't already figured out the stuff that's in this book, you are nowhere near ready to start a hedge fund.

A highly recommend read for anyone seeking to launch a hedge fund. The book does a good job of taking an in-depth subject and breaks down the matter into an easy to comprehend read. Regardless if a given fund being formed will be macro, event driven, long/short etc. managers want to focus on trading—not getting buried with intricate "legal speak" on formation structures. I think the book does a good job of balance with regards to enough information but not overwhelming a reader with unnecessary legal jargon with regards to the various offshore/onshore legal structures.

I am only on page 15 and the typos, grammatical errors, and missing function words have become distracting enough to put the book down.

This book provides very little content of any value. You’d be better off finding a draft set of subscription documents and perusing through them. Never the less, the latter half of the book is full of definitions an elementary finance student could recite. Certainly not worth $30. I’d advise saving yourself the money.

This book was very informative. It tells you exactly what need to done in order to start your own hedge fund. I like the fact that it is written in very basic terms.

A great help for me. Frank takes a very complicated topic and breaks it down into a simple format. For $10, you have a comprehensive resource at your fingertips.
