As an Australian who clearly remembers this event, i was wondering how this event would be perceived by a non Aussie. While this book outlines this horrific event (one that should and never will be forgotten), I have a couple of issues with it. There are many grammatical errors throughout the book which does mar the reading experience. Also, I am not sure why, but there were several inaccuracies seemingly made to "fit" an American audience. For example, the author refers to 911 emergency lines following the incident, in Australia we do not use 911 (it is 000). There were also some references to our court system that were incorrectly named. For the sake of credibility, I believe there should have been an explanation of the differences rather than a blanket change. This may seem small and petty criticism's, but it did affect my enjoyment of the book. At times, it also seemed very rushed.I do thank you though for outlining an event in our history that changed our country forever the legislative changes to gun ownership following has meant that in 2015, the Port Arthur massacre remains the last mass shooting in our great country.

I bought this book to have as a source for a paper but its very thin and does not cite where the information is obtained. Returned.

The book was missing a chapter and was badly written. Lazy body of work. If the author wants money for his books, he needs to work a bit harder to provide a better quality product.

A slim volume with no photos and nothing new to add to the Port Arthur tragedy. Try Suddenly One Sunday by Mike Bingham instead - brilliant book. Bin this one.

Fascinating and in depth account of a mass shooting and it's aftermath. The Port Arthur massacre was the catalyst for drastic change in Australia 's gun laws the drastic decline mass shootings in that country.

A good book.

I enjoyed this book getting the facts about what really happened

I received a KINDLE copy of this book from the author through a giveaway he recently had on LibraryThing and the following is my honest opinion.Being the person I am, especially before becoming a Book Reviewer, I would normally shy away from books of this genre. But, now, after reading a few of Mr. Jack Rosewood’s books in this series, I’m hooked and eagerly await the next installment and hope for another giveaway.Unlike the rest of the books in this series the author has shifted his attention from the U.S. to the “Land Down Under”, Australia; and instead of writing about a serial mass murderer, he’s written about Martin Bryant. One of the most gruesome aspect of this individual is his reign of terror wasn’t spread over a prolonged period of time; the period of time had only been nearly 24 hours during which he’d killed 35 individuals, most of whom were tourists, and had wounded 23 more. And to this 28 year old psychopath it didn’t matter whether they were men, women or even children. This incident has become of one of the worst cases of mass murders in the history of Australia.Mr. Rosewood has once again taken his readers to the frontline where he writes in a “you are there” writing style awhich includes information about the murderer’s psyche which might have caused him to commit this heinous act.Once you read this book you might become interested in this genre of True Crimes the way I have and the other books written by this author, which is why I’ve given this book 5 STARS.
