Unfortunately I read this book until chapter 18, what a waste of time. I tried to give it a chance and seeing how short it was kept reading waiting for it to get better. It was lacking chemistry between the two, I never found myself rooting for them. She hates him, treated him horrible and he appeared weak. I found myself asking the question "what do you see in her?" He swears he will protect her until he dies, wants to bed her, but then sets up a marriage for her instead with someone else. He tells himself he loves her, but I find no reason in the book why he doesn't act on that love or just dispose of her. I found Slyvia annoying and started to dislike her. Don't waste your time on this book. I have read other viking books that are 10x better than this was.

It is hard to stay with a book with the heroine drives you crazy. I honestly had a hard time understanding why our H was even remotely attracted to her. She was not only mean but vicious. I understand the reasons for her hatred because the Danes took someone from her. But our H was nothing but nice and patient to her. I kept waiting for the H to grow a pair!!But, finally after 3/4 through the book (so proud of myself for finishing it since my dislike for the h), she finally found kindness and recognized the H for what he truly was, an honorable man.There is violence, lovemaking only once outside of marriage, and somewhat descriptive. We do get HEA, but this cried for an epilogue. No cliffhanger, but we don't know if she regretted the life she decided on. Knowing she was going to a country that would hate her.We do get a surprise twist in the end that I didn't see coming. (ljb)

Unfortunately for him she is more like a Valkyrie .Our heroine is too brave for her own good. Our hero is a ferocious, but honourable man with a longing for home and justice. This gives us am idea about how life might have been in those dangerous times. An exciting journey back to our historic roots, and the start of a very good series.
The story is great, but something's missing in the rendering of it. I don't know what is missing, maybe it's because my mind works so fast (ADHD) I already know what's going to happen next, but not in the way you put it in writing. I guess I think a little differently because my first language is French and I translate everything in my head .But I would like to tell you I really enjoyed your story. Thank you very much for the hours of entertainment.
I like books about Vikings And this is book is really good.Silva's father was killed in a siege. She is going to get her revenge on any Viking available .Konl is one of the warriors fighting, He justs wants to go back to Norway. He ends under with Silva which she is not happy about. The author weaves the story where hate grows into love an passion. I plan on reading the others in the series as they are written hope one will be coming out soon.
The author took me into the secret thoughts of Silvia. She let me feel the emotions that passed thru her. If I had been just after a love story, I would still be disappointed. The male character was superficial and without any ability to draw you into his world. He was supposed to be a marauding viking, but came off as more of a boy scout. I never felt the trouble Silvia was in through the entire book. If you are interested in only the woman's point of view, than this is a good book for you to read.I am sorry, but I would not recommend this book for any accomplished reader. Some of the chapters were almost completely predictable almost to the point of letting the reader get bored. It was very disappointing. Perhaps as the story continues in later books this would improve. I do not know.
