Bought this and another map for a 6500 mile road trip across the good ol' USA. And it was a lifesaver! Soooo many places did not have a signal of any kind, so I couldn't use my phone's GPS, nor the stand-alone GPS that I brought as a back-up. Praise the day for low-tech, I only got lost once.
When I unfolded and refolded this map initially it already caused the first pieces to fall apart. From then it took 3 to 4 more times of quick use (only by my co driver while driving...no rain, no outdoor use, no nothing) until the map was ready for the garbage can. It will not last very long, even if you are very careful. Do not buy it.
Not sure what paper was used but this thing ripped / tore almost immediately. It contains all the pertinent information but Be Very Careful - it's fragile.
It's a map.Works as it should.I wish they made one with elevations/topography which would come in hady picking routes whlist towing.
Just the right size to mount into my travel trailer to chart our trips thru out the western United States. Cant wait to draw out our 5 state trip this fall, Yellowstone here we come.
I used this map much more then I thought I would so I am happy with it, although it is now torn from use, it is just paper.
It's Rand McNally, so you expect exceptional. I prefer paper maps. My complaint here is the back. Too many cities, and some that should be bigger, are small. ae; Stockton, CA, is the same size as Yellowstone. Weird.
Left San Diego, California for Virginia the week of Thanksgiving. The four maps I ordered came in so handy for plotting the journey. Took us 5-1/2 days to cross. Best maps we ever used, highly recommend them.
